BALCONYTV LONDON 24/06/2009 LAYLA with THOMAS BENJAMIN Thomas Benjamin has a pretty interesting story. Originally hailing from Slovakia, Benjamin has built a solid enough following in Germany and Denmark on the back of a style that has been compared with the laidback and acoustic (definitely not irksome, oh no) ways of Jack Johnson or Keith Urban, yet he retains a faithfulness to the exotic sounds of his home country. After recording with Universal in Holland and generally upping his profile on the confident, the dashing young fellow has made his way to London in the hope he can find the formula to make it big. Of course, sensitive singer-songwriters litter the streets nowadays, but not usually do they come from Slovakia, so he may have a chance.
