However, gums can bleed from minor trauma that clears up on its own. You could have gotten a popcorn kernel or tortilla chip piece stuck in between the teeth and gums. It could be a case of brushing or flossing a little too fiercely. The key thing to watch for is a reoccurring pattern. If your gums are sore and bleeding constantly, it's a safe bet that you have receding gums. « menos
