Vestas-American Wind Technology Incorporated announced Friday its building two factories in Brighton, Colorado. The factories are expected to bring a total of 1,350 jobs to the area. The factories will be used to make blades for wind turbines, and also where the turbine housing, generator and transformer will be assembled. Denmark corporation, which owns Vestas-Americas, opened a blade manufacturing plant in Windsor, Colorado just last March. The company says Brighton’s close proximity to Windsor and also railroads and highways made it a prime location. Earlier this year Vesta announced its plans to build a plant in Colorado, where steel towers will be built to hold the wind turbines. A site has not been chosen for that plant yet. The Governor of Colorado says Vestas presence in Colorado is a $700 million capital investment. They’ve also created nearly 2,500 jobs. « menos
